About LED Engineering Services

LED Engineering Services arose from a clear market need.  There are literally thousands of companies manufacturing LED lights today and many claims being thrown around, such as:  “You’ll never have to touch this light again.”

If you’re an industry outsider, it has to be a daunting a task to decipher fact from fiction, especially since you need to know that the substantial investment you’re making will produce the performance that’s being claimed.   Given this challenge, we understand why some may decide to wait until the LED market becomes more “mainstream”, but we think that decision leaves too much money on the table that can be captured today.

That is the market need that LED Engineering Services fills – to provide the lighting industry expertise, analytical approach to quantifying performance, and LED product knowledge so that you can achieve superior light levels and attractive financial returns TODAY.

LeeAnne Crane started her lighting career 27 years ago, serving commercial and industrial customers with a leading lighting supply company.  She quickly grasped the importance of understanding the electrical trade, and completed her Electrician Apprenticeship Program in 1992.  Shortly thereafter, she became certified under the Environmental Protection Agency’s  “Green Lights Surveyor Program” to qualify commercial and industrial lighting projects for utility rebates.

This was the start of a journey that would see her performing over 300 lighting retrofits in the ensuing years, and becoming a highly sought-after designer and specifier.  In 2006, LeeAnne was awarded the American Lighting Association’s highest designation, “Certified Lighting Consultant”, of which there are only about 140 in the entire United States.  It’s an elite group.  She also completed the Marine Turtle Exterior Lighting Program, and has developed a specialty in assisting clients with “turtle safe” LED lighting.

Dennis Nickerson graduated from Boston College in 1984 and started his executive career on Wall Street with the old Chase Manhattan Bank in New York (now JPMorgan Chase).  After earning his Master’s Degree at Harvard University in 1993, he joined McKinsey & Company’s Mexico City office, and had the opportunity to work for McKinsey in their Mumbai, New York, and Sao Paulo offices, becoming fluent in Spanish and Portuguese along the way.

Dennis then joined the American Express Company as a Vice President in their Headquarters in New York, and over the next seven years took on increasing levels of responsibility in Amex’s business divisions in Latin America and the U.S.

Together, LeeAnne’s unparalleled skills and experiences in LED lighting combined with Dennis’ track record of building and managing businesses in multiple countries and multiple languages means that LED Engineering Services is poised to serve you in a scalable way in whatever location and whichever application you may need solved.

Indeed, today we enjoy a physical presence in Florida and Brazil and have completed projects in five countries around the world.
